From its seemingly simple meaning, the word curator from the Latin curare meaning to “take care.” A curator's position has been redefined over time to include a wide range of responsibilities and new kinds of curators are emerging all the time.

However the Worldwide Peace Marker Project collective is a new curatorial challenge as it is a global work of art for which 198 artists from as many nations must be selected and organized to coalesce into one single installation; the first of its kind in the history of art.

Beth Carter Bell is an artist who has the education and the years of expertise in human resource assets, plus, a unique gift for the organization of large complex installations with many simultaneous different components.

The scope of the WPMP collective is mind-numbing and its documentation a milestone in the collection of data at a global level. One can only wish that this pioneering effort comes to fruition just as the project itself is a task that has never been done before.  -Tiite Baquero
