It was in September of 2011 that the Royal Blossom Project was born out of my partnership with Nature, Vetchia Merelli or Dwarf Royal Palms to be exact.

And, it was close encounter with the miracle of life as housed in a single red seed from those very special palm trees that helped shape the identity of the over 150 works and 2 large scale sculptures and counting that call Royal Blossom Project home.

2011-Present

The Royal Blossom Project is my own collision with the reality of the world and what art can offer humanity to move forward.  Gone is the time for reacting to social folly or selfish introspection of identity affected by the context of Human Nature.  Present in this moment in history, is the challenge to sustain civilization in the midst of a vanishing world.  This moment in time, calls for a merging of human creativity and Nature’s age-old-know-how on a never before in Earth’s history collaborative effort to create a different world.

The project comprises 150 large scale mixed media works and includes two sculptures.  The work  debuted in 2012, where 23 of the works and one sculpture were exhibited at YOLO Mundi, an international exhibition.  In 2014 one of the works was exhibited at Art Basel in Miami.   Each year more works are created by Beth and shown at different exhibitions.   Shown here is just a small sampling of the project's works.  This is an ongoing project for Beth and the website to the project is listed below.

Hope On The Eve Of The Storm

53” x 40 “

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work:

How far have we compromised life on earth?  How soon are we going to do something about correcting our course? Do we know that things are not right with the world?  Yes we do!  Nature has dealt with calamity for millions of years even before we appeared.  Why can’t we use what we know and ask nature the rest?  We can and we should while we still have the time.

Oh Wow... Behold An American Renaissance

40” x 53”

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work:

America remains a remarkable experiment aimed at living in relative freedom with a measure of happiness.  Although the main armature of the American dream is in need of an upgrade, its populace is ready for the challenge and the improvement ideas are already in sight.

Transition Points Panel 2

40” x 96”

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work:

A black whole is much more that a singularity where the laws of nature breakdown, Nature would have never allowed such a spectacular event to be outside of Nature. Similarly we humanity have tried to be outside of Nature and are failing because like it or not like the black holes, we are also a part of nature.

Two Transitional Points Panel 1

96” x 40”

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work

We have saved an enormous amount of Data over the millennia and it is not enough to safe guard our passage through life.  As the pull generated by the consequence of our activity is stronger than our ability to change the course.  The new data bearing principles that apply to our dilemma are ready to be read and catastrophe averted.  Nature provides where intuition alone can never service.

My Home Address Is The Universe

40” x 53”

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work:

Many of us do not realize that we are universal creatures and thus the universe is our home. Learning to see ourselves that way will expand our sense of identity from being a local individual living in a certain part of the city in a certain country in a particular continent in a little planet in a very common solar system, to being that knows all of that while being a citizen of the universe.

A Conscious Apotheosis Of Life

53” x 40”

Mixed Media On Canvas

Beth's Narrative for the Work

The kaleidoscope of ideas that make up human consciousness has now come into focus of the most valuable commodity in our planet, “LIFE”, beautiful, abundant, and fragile. Resources are diminishing, a drop of water gains the value of a diamond; water is turned by Nature into life, a feature a diamond cannot do. The tree of life is a water sustained apotheosis of LIFE.

The Reality Of Life Descending

48" x 48" x 180"

Sculpture with palm tree fabric, jute, amethyst, topaz, florescence stems from Veitchia Merrellii,  and crystals

Beth's Narrative for the work:

As we realize more and more that human civilization is an unsustainable enterprise, we also realize, that our ability to deal with the resulting challenges is not defined well enough to solve the problems involved.  Nature however, has been dealing with life far longer than we can imagine and  should be the first place to go for answers.  As we do, the reality of LIFE will descend to show us that what we missed.
